Free Earth Project for Element 3D

Here is a free Earth project with 4K maps to use with Element 3D. You can also use the maps with CC sphere to recreate the project without Element 3D, we even have a very old tutorial to show you how. Watch the Blue Planet.

To customize the Earth, you can open the Element 3D layer and turn down the illumination map to shut the lights off.

NOTE: Please place the Earth folder inside “My_Models” folder

Visit Update Page!

PLEASE NOTE:
Previous Customers can download the Patch Installer that contains just the new plug-in ( only 4 MBs). New Customers should download the full installer that contains all the 3D models and images.

Improvements:

  • Added Super Sampling option.
  • Improved extrusion engine.
  • New Path Resolution mode “Extreme”
  • Several stability improvements.
  • Fixed fading custom textures.
  • Fixed crashed with multiprocessor rendering.

Improved Anti-Aliasing in Element 3D

Exciting news for a boring (but crucial) feature… Anti-Aliasing! Element 3D is about to get some powerful new options next week that will clean your clock! Or at least your edges with impressive Super-Sampling!

Anti-Aliasing Comparison

What is anti-aliasing? Basically it’s the method used to reduce jagged artifacts in your renders with sharp highlights or reflections like the above example.

Currently Element 3D uses hardware Multi-Sampling which is very fast but with extreme highlights and thin edges, some renders may look flickery or jagged. Not any more. We’re listening to our customers and so we created an impressive new solution called Super-Sampling.

Key Benefits:
-Maintains crisp image quality and textures
-Smooths sharp edges and highlights
-Improved clarity of high-poly detailed models
-Easy to use, just turn it on!

Super-Sampling basically renders your frame “super” large and then re-samples down to the frame size. This allows more detail to be saved and smoothed properly from the extra data. But, it does this on the GPU using a special render method.

The new method will add a minimal performance hit but it will NOT require additional MEMORY! (This is kind-of a big...

Mr. Time Freeze

Here are a couple awesome “time-freeze” scenes from last year that are a blast to watch! I figure they are using every trick in the book from wire-removal to 3d models and probably much more. The main idea is to shoot the scene while everyone is standing still and move the camera around them. In contrast, The Matrix bullet-time effect was shot with hundreds of cameras, all firing around the same moment.

I know the show Hero’s has some cool freeze-time effects as well as the explosion from Swordfish, do you remember some others?

Now, if you really want to be inspired check out this Mega Video!
