I'm super stoked for this one Andrew! I'm premiering a new short film later this month, and this would be the PERFECT final touch to the opening title. I'm greatly looking forward to this tutorial!

How does one say "welcome to another very exciting tutorial" in Russian?

Have always wondered.

I tried to crack the technique in this tutorial.
The only clues that I had is It requires no third-party plugins.
I jumped into AfterFX and I did a lot of things that doesn't really make any sense.
Finally I ended up with closing the project.

But I figured out something that is I'm not a great artist like Mr. Andrew Kramer.

All I found is Shatter effect is deployed here
This is the best thing that I can do.

Thanks for giving some work to my stupid brain Mr. Andrew Kramer. I guess

And You'er Back with an other tutorial thanks for that.....
I'm waiting for it....

Hey Andrew, I own a most of your products, I have been using element 3D for a long time, and I'm planning on moving to other plugins like Stardust which is a plugin that has Physical Dynamics Simulation, nodes and some nice features. I need to know if your planning on doing anything with Element 3D? or have abandoned that plugin?

Indeed, Stardust looks like a good plug-in to move onto. At least, it looks like it'd be good to have for stuff Element 3D just can't do, namely good particle effects.

I wish Andrew would announce any news regarding an Element 3D. Been waiting forever for .fbx support that was supposed to come in a future update. If it also came out with a physics/particle system to compete with Stardust, that would be a welcome surprise.

Stardust wants to be an overachiever. It can do a lot of things, but it struggles with most. You can do almost as much as Element does with Stardust, but it's much more difficult to control and it renders slower. You can do some decent particles and some decent physics sims, but it comes at the cost of REALLY SLOW frames, reaching the point where you actually lose interactivity. To be honest, if you want crazy sims and insanely looking systems, you're ALWAYS better off with a soft like Houdini. Element is great because it give awesome results for some uses you might need in AE (mostly motion graphics, but not really limited to that) WHILE being extremely fluid, fast and easy to work with.
I have to admit I'm personally looking forward to a v3 version, and I hope RTX from nvidia can bring some exciting stuff into AE (mainly raytraced reflections and refractions), but I have to admit, physics sims is not on MY wishlist for the new element. The only thing you can hope to get in terms of physics in AE are rigid bodies, and even then the interface would be limiting ... how about soft bodies? water? fire? smoke? grains? hair/wires? That's exactly why you also need something like Houdini or Blender in your pipeline. It's great to be able to keep staying in AE, but you have to know its limitations. And you can't sacrifice interactivity for the sake of extra features, cause fine-tuning those things rely on being able to iterate fast through results, so it actually defeats its own purpose.
And you don't have to take my word for it. Open a Stardust tutorial with a more elaborate results. See how they always cut when they press preview? See how they always enter the values instead of trying to find the right one through trial and error? Try downloading the demo and follow the tutorial. Press RAM preview and be amazed how long it takes. See for yourself that if you wanted to use that in production you'd waste a whole day for a 3 hour work because iterating trying out values takes ages. Understand those people did those projects prior to recording the tutorial and wrote down all the values they used. It probably took them days.

@Alex - Wow, thanks for that insight into Stardust, didn't realize performance for it is an issue. That's definitely something to keep in mind.
