He clicks and hits the tilda key and then it magically disappears. I have that white bar too and I was wondering how exactly to get rid of it. Thanks. by sultan 07/12/2010 hi andrew, the work you do here is amazing by Dave 07/05/2010 I think it looks amazing, that one extra bit that would make it look more effective is the top sky layer becoming brighter and more exposed as it disappears, as when recording video footage from a light to dark area, the light blows out as it is adjusting to the darker footage. :) by Tinky Winky 07/03/2010 WOW great helped me alot and uhm saif is right WHERE IS NUMBER 95???? by saif 06/22/2010 hi andrew it's nice video tutorial but were is the video tutorial number 95 ? thanks by Amit Singh 06/20/2010 Hi,Andrew.I am Amit from India.I followed your all tutorials and learned immensely from them.I always get inspired by your tutorials.I regard you as my AE tutor.Thanx once more.Keep up your good work. by Sebastián Quiroga 06/12/2010 That's fantastic!! I am trying to accomplish this effect, but with the camera moving towards the wall then going through. I have 3d rooms with the camera animated to pass through the wall into the next room. How would you go about adding the stuff inside the wall before the camera comes out the other side? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated, as I'm kind of at a standstill on this project. Thanks, Cody by solyman 04/27/2010 Hi Andrew I Love you And Thank you,it Was Lovely . by Ramin 04/26/2010 itis good by Piercedcub 04/23/2010 Andrew, wow, more of you please LOL ur totally adorable (ur wife is super lucky! lol) and I would love to actually see you do these tutorials! What camera does Andrew use? thanks. by Victor 11/19/2009 Hola Andrew! Congratulations for this website, is the bible for the new generation in the world of posproduction. I did this tutorial a few days ago, and this is the result: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xgTodgdCBs (the original was in 16:9, I don´t know why Youtube reconvert in 4:3) And one more thing: A group of friends have a webserie, here in Spain, called "Malviviendo" ("Badliving"), the website is: www.malviviendo.com, I do the making of and some support in postproduction of the two last episodes(there is only a guy for all postproduction), sometimes your tutorials save our lifes, thank you Andrew! By the way, some televisions like FOX (FOX Spain) are interest in Malviviendo, maybe you can see it in the future in the international tv. I'm going to graduate in December and I need to make a demo reel. Your tutorials will help me out a lot. Thanks Andrew! by Thibor 10/16/2009 Hey Andrew, hey guys. I'm just trying out this tutorial but a problem occured. From the moment of switching the Light Transmission to 100%, my image gets totally blurry. Well, in fact, it's out of focus and the only way to get it sharp is, to put it right on the same plane as the background. But by doing so, the whole concept of projection gets lost. What I dont understand: Why is my image out of focus although the camera option of DOF is disabled? Even when I change the focal plane of the camera to the image plane it doesn't change. Is there anyone here, who can help me getting out of this disaster? best regards, thibor. by Thebearrorist 10/16/2009 Hey, I tried making this same scene but I used pictures in 3d space without camera mapping and had the same results. What would be the benefit of projecting the pictures the way you did in the tut? by Paci 10/16/2009 hey Andrew, for me apart the guys from Total training, you're the best in AE. It seems that using HD video instead of a J-peg is a whole different ballgame with this Tut. by Ben 10/11/2009 Hey Andrew, love this tut. I was using a hires picture when attempting this tutorial, and when I used shadow projection the result came out all blurry. I tried a bunch of things, and what I discovered is that in Comp Settings, you have to go to Advanced and then Options, and change the Shadow Map Resolution to a high number. Just letting everybody know, let me know if this helps! -Ben by blaz 10/11/2009 wow thanks it is awesome.. Can you please upload AE save file, because it is not in the zip file. I was literally going to try one of these myself this afternoon, and wham! you had a professional example to work off, I seriously couldn't believe it. I went around telling everyone in my class. I'm actually designing a music video for my band (Zuluhotel) towards my Honors degree in Motion, it's got a sci-fi, anti technology/identity loss in computer civilization theme. So far I've incorporated: Basic training stuff (of course) 3D city Vanishing point (god-sent) Burning up particle guy and now THIS tutorial! Once again, I just want to thank you man, you don't understand. I wouldn't be where I am without VCP! Thanks! Wes, Wellington, New Zealand. by Mc Borie 10/10/2009 Hi Andrew !! Nice Work and Keep going. by Jeremy Fabiano 10/09/2009 After doing the tutorial 15 times over and over.. and still coming up with a blurry projection, I've figured out what's up.. In "light settings" check to make sure your shadow diffusion is ZERO (0) Pixels!!! It isn't mentioned in the tutorial, but if you pause it right hen AK sets up the light it says zero. Andrew, your great~!!great~!!great~!! keep gonig,,, Thanks a lot,,, by MyTalent.co.za 10/06/2009 Andrew, your tutorials are really splendid! Was thinking last night to give you a shout and suggest a few ideas around future tutorials. So I'll just list them here right now and you can say 'sure' and do the shifty eye thing: - Smallville tutorials to emulate all dem special super hero abilities like heat vision, super fast running, super high jumping, and others. - Tutorial about a 'normal' moving character while everything around him is buzzing around at fast forward motion or slow motion as seen in the movie 21. - End of the World tutorials like an atom bomb exploding over a city, tidal waves, or a meteorite smashing into earth and creating a shockwave. The list goes on, but I'll stop here for now :) I think in short, just a few tutorials to help the guys n' gals here create a few Heroes-like short movies. Now there's an idea! Perhaps you could host a competition on this site to see who creates the best super hero scene or something and give away something neat, like a Twitch/Riot Gear bundle or... something... Anyways, keep up the GREAT work! :) Take care by XMan 10/06/2009 great job mr andrew by lunga 10/06/2009 That was a good tutorial, nice technique will definitely use it as a transition on a project I'm working on.
