Thank you so much Andrew Kremer! I believe you tutorials is my saver! There is this friend of mine who have decided to leave me doing a project (video) all on my own without giving me any resources, and i believe your tutorials definitely can show him that i am not so pathetic like what he thought! Thank you so much although i have yet to finish that video, but i believ i can finish it successfully! Not only that, your Tutorials are amazingly easy to understand! Thanks again!! :)

by LV426 08/30/2009
Great way of doing things, and looks better than most of the plug-in's I have seen.

I was wondering though, does anyone know where to get a 1080p clip like this. I really need to do something like this on a project I'm working on, but need a decent resolution to work with. Thanks.

Just a thought on this tutorial: The video flow is too perfect. With old cameras the speed varied, and frame skipping wasn't seldom.

Compliments on your tutorials

by villas 02/15/2009
Andrew i have a question about some strange thing in my notebook (newbie question pearhaps...)

Take a look in this image capture of first frame on original downloaded MOV from this page please.

http://villasweb.com/testes/file_original.jpg

Can you see something like interlced desincronization or what ?? Is it normal?
...or Someone can explain please?

All my DV videos apears like that.

Thanks in advance

by Mark 02/09/2009
To loop the 8mm right click the file in project, go to interpret footage => Main

at the bottom it says loop X times.
set that to 100 to get 8 minutes.

or just take your run time and divide by 8 for the number of loops.
by Drew Roper 01/27/2009
Tremendous free tutorial! Thanks for the tips!

You know your Onions! Just a quick one, as the other's have stated, how do you make the 8 sec. old film look go on for longer?

Many Thanks
by Dean Collins 01/22/2009
Hey Andrew,

This tutorial helped me a lot... thanks!
Now it looks so much better then doing the old film effect in windows movie maker! ;)

But I also am making a longer shot then 8 sec. How can I loop or duplicate this 8mm mov in the same layer?

Thanks again!
by Erictease 01/21/2009

But here's my question: In tutorial, you use a sample of old 8mmm old film (just for 8 sec long). What if I wanna make a longer footage for my project. (longer than 8 sec.)
Please help! Thanks a lot
by horrorshow 12/16/2008

thanks!!!! i was searching a way to do this on premiere... but well... i think im gonna do it this way ^_^ thanks!!!!
by Damo 12/12/2008
I cant help it, have to bigup s'more...

Andrew, if more people in the world were as generous with their time in providing such absolute amazingly detailed instructions on other things people struggled to learn, the world itself would be full of artists.

So many people I know have the gift, but not the ability to show it. You are providing so much for people who CAN but were hindered someway.

Of all the applications I've tried, from music production to 3d-cad apps, no-one has provided as much for so little by way of example.

You win the internet, dude !!!!!
by PostMagic 11/16/2008
King Tut!

by Jabberhauki 11/10/2008

Respect! Blured edges... ... I knew I was missing something all this time :D
by John Baum 10/28/2007
I used some of this for my video.

Excellent results using the multiply key right in Premiere 2.0

I also got an old film projector sound effect and record crackling sound effect to heighten the feel. Also, midway through I used a higpass filter to give it that extra nasally old microphone feel from the early 'talkies' ALl and all, and accomplishment I'm quite proud of, so check it out and comment if you would!

Much better than my much lazier method of importing into movie maker and using one of there effects and then exporting and tweaking with after effects.

I've been looking at this site daily for months now and this is the first time I've actually watched this tutorial.

Anyways thanks for this tutorial... even if you did make it 2 years ago...
