Last time i tried to render something a picture it made over 500 copies of it and spammed my desktop with it and stacked my stuff so it could fill the whole screen i dont wanna do that again so know the problem?

thats because you didnt specify a file destination for your sequence. next time make a folder on your desktop and make that your file destination

How do you render motion blur outside of a particle system? Is it in the render settings?

When I try to display the particles as the geometry I created they disappear. I don't know what to do... did everything like u. I selected my group in the shape instance operator and picked 'geometry' in display operator but they won't appear. :(

That is one great tutorial, I just wished there were more people like you Andrew. I used the knowledge from this tutorial to put a meteorite in Doncaster town centre withmy video camera, I might send it to the local papers for a joke.

You can always get a demo download of max, which is a fully functional version, for 30 days, to do some of these tutorials, that require 3ds max.

Go to the autodesk website and sign up as a student. You get a large amount of products for free (such as the one he is using (3DS Max)) only for signing up and it's completely legal.
