by chance, I was watching the movie Ghost starring Patrick Wayne Swayze. I am happy that Mr. Kramer included that example from this movie to educated us how to make the effect as real as in a movie like Ghost.
Thanks

by James Bailey 09/05/2008
Wow, I've not actually done this yet, although I have with the cloud tutorial. But it looks stunning, and once you get your head around it, actually quite easy *(compared to creating each of the blood cells in a 3D app, lighting/animating etc)*

A huge thank you and I look forward to many more great things from you!
by Frederik 08/29/2008
Andrew, thanks for a great tutorial, I toyed around with it quite a bit, making the camera dive into and follow the bloodstream etc.
I have one problem with the custom particles though, when I set them to random loop they keep disappearing along the way. I can fix it by setting them to current time (only working option) but then they are quite uniform. There is no blank frame in my particle animation, I don't know what it could be. Does anybody know?
Any help is very much appreciated

Love this tute. Love all the tutes.
A couple of months ago i had never used AE but i watched a few tutes and had a great understanding of the software before i even opened it the first time.

Just a question / suggestion for an expantion on this blood tute.
I was wondering how it would be possible to created a pumping blood cell scene ie, the blood cells pump from the left hand side and ease to a holt (possibly even reverse a little) then get pumped further to the right instead of being a constant stream coming from the emmitter. so you get the effect that the heart is pumping the blood?
btw i cant use 3d software as i suck.

Cheers from downunder.

Man, Andrew. Lord and Savior Jesus awesome GFX. I ask that you may grant my wish and create a DVD tutorial with advanced super slick GFX as you always do.
I would easily pay $100- $200 for that man.
Oh and Lord Jesus Andrew GFX I think you are the first person to effectively teach the integration of 3D and A.E. It is a sorely lacking aspect of the business.
So please make such a DVD to fulfill my dreams. I thank you for listening and best wishes to your wife and baby daughter.
by Seth P 10/04/2007
Thanks for another great tutorial Andrew. Very much appreciated. I might have missed it, but I don't think you ever got around to explaining why you moved the camera's anchor point behind the layer before you zoomed in.

Thanks again for all your awesome work.

Ha, I was just thinking of some DVD's I purchased with video learning tuts and can only think how hard it is to concentrate for extended periods of time while watching these things. Almost to the point of falling asleep in my chair. On the other hand, your tuts are a BLAST to watch. I find myself laughing almost everytime I see a new one of your video tuts.
by Conor Maher 10/04/2007
Quote Eliot" Another thing you could do down the track would be something like:

A guy about to enter the room (camera is facing his back) at the end of a hallway and when he opens the door, an explosion (which would be created in 3D) would emit from in the room, throwing the guy backwards!

Just an idea,

Thanks for all the COOL STUFF!"

This has been covered on one of Andrew's DVDs, "Serious effects and compositing" Check it out ;)
by Breyon 10/04/2007
Andrew,

YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!!!!! This was a Fantastic tut series! Thank You so much. I really appreciate what you are doing. Hey, like James, it would be great if you I did one which included compositing multiple passes (diffuse, ambient, volume lights etc...) and explaining why you would do that.

Hey Andrew, tutorial is great, but I when I followed along and when I used the project files, my blood particles seem to... spasm. Any idea why? I have 1 gig of ram, is that not enough? I've never really had a problem like this in After Effects so far. Well, thanks for the tut anyway.

Love the fact that your combining Max with AE.

As a (somewhat) newbie AA user, you got me "up and running" in a proportionally excellerated time through your most splendid tutorials. Whip up some new stuff for a tutorial DVD an I will buy.

Hello again. I downloaded the project files, and everything works great except when it gets to the cells turning green. Then my after effects freezes up and closes. Any idea why? I have trapcode and all that and I'm running on CS3. Any help would be spectacular. Thanks!

It's more likely that you get sued by Massive Attack, the band behind this lovely track 'Teardrop'. You actually got to see the musicvideo for this one, I think you gonna recognize something..

I think that 1 life will not be enough to watch everything you've done for free, then i'm sad to have less time to go to the next level with your DVDs (and buy them) and have more exciting moments like with your free tutorials.
I'm sure you have superhuman powers
by Bogdan 10/02/2007
Andrew Kramer is the man!!!! I will buy all your dvd's!!! Thank you!

by Craig T 10/02/2007
Really informative tutorial, The intergration from 3d max to AE to Particular is perfect!

What is House? I don't think we have that show over here in the UK! I do recognize the tune though, It's originally done by Massive Attack, it's called Teardrop from the album Mezzanine! Recently covered by Newton Faulkner & Josè Gonzalez FYI

Keep up the hard work AK
Peace, Craig T

by Eduard 10/01/2007
Very cool Andrew!
by Eliot 10/01/2007
This is GREAT STUFF!

Another thing you could do down the track would be something like:

A guy about to enter the room (camera is facing his back) at the end of a hallway and when he opens the door, an explosion (which would be created in 3D) would emit from in the room, throwing the guy backwards!

Just an idea,

Thanks for all the COOL STUFF!

Eliot
by Steve 10/01/2007
Best tutorial yet Andrew! I absolutely love how you're getting into 3DSM lately in your tutorials even though I'm more of a maya guy

by D.W. 10/01/2007
There are tons of applications for this tutorial!

Thanks for doing such great work and for making your knowledge of After Effects available to the rest of us!
by OnfireProduction 10/01/2007
VERY, VERY Nice Andrew, Less Talking, More Walk the Walk so to speak.

I can not even explain how much your "TUTS" & "KINDNESS" have changed "HOW" many people see the Internet as "FREE" Information, this is what it should be as far as "Instructional" Videos go, Now I do see the reason for "Entrepreneurship" In everything you do, But It Makes perfect Sense Since You "WALK THE WALK" and you "Don't Try and Sell"
What Everyone already knows.

I hope that made sense, Basically you are "THE MAN"
And I Truly Appreciate All These "Free" Tutorials
And All Your Hard Work,

PS. I think you should have a Donations Link, So That Some of us Could Send You Money, Just Because we want to support you.

crazy stuff man! love ur work mate!
by mikey 10/01/2007
a job well done to you sir. I come to your site more than any other because first off, your tutorials are great, and i very much enjoy your humorous commentary that everybody else seems to lack in their tutorials, everyone else i watch is very stiff and boring, but you make it happen. Great job.
by BattyNos1922 10/01/2007
Kudos to you for the top-notch tutorial. You make the complicated look easy and do-able by newbies like myself!
by Jake 10/01/2007
Andrew Kramer, you are teh shit. You and Aharon are simply amazing. I listened to your interview the other day about after effects 7 and NAB. It was very interesting hearing both of you at once. Anyway, great tutorial, keep it up. Your stuff is brilliant.
by David Edwards 10/01/2007
Nice tutorial Andrew, i never would have thought to use AE for the particle side, good solution, and probably quicker :)

Amazing video tutorial series. Andrew if no one has said it already you are a fantastic individual for providing these to the community.
If you plan on expanding on the 3D integration with AfterFX in the future could I request having one with compositing multiple passes (diffuse, ambient, volume lights etc...)
I thank you for not giving Sam the artistic freedom of exposing himself to the public :)
Also do you except donations? If so do you have a paypall account?

by goemon 10/01/2007
great tutorial again.
I wonder how long it would have taken to render the whole scene in 3D Max with depth of field etc... definitely much longer than your way.
by Chris 10/01/2007
Really great job with this tutorial Andrew. After watching these 3 parts of this tutorial I really understand why it took a while for you to assemble it properly.. You´re simply amazing my friend. Stay as you are and all my best to your wife and baby!
by Jacob W. 10/01/2007
Great job. Very useful I can use this in many ways... Just wondering how did you get the House music?
by Paul 10/01/2007
Thanks for "taking it to the next level" and showing the detail of how to blend the "zoom layer" elements.

As always, I'm in awe of your presentation ability and your AE skill. Thanks!
