This is the first thing I have ever done in AE so its good! but I need help :( when you get to the spot where you inserted the flourish 6, made it classic colour burn, and you rotated and move it into place. How do i get it to rotate? All i can do is slide it around the screen! *crys*

Hey great tutorial. Well I downloaded the Evolution pack, but I can't figure something out. It doesn't show up in After Effects :/ The file is on my desktop right now, and it has all the files in it, but I have tried everything to get it into After Effects itself. Can anyone help?

CAMERA EFFECT WITHOUT ZOOMING:
1.)Pickwhip the camera to the null object.
2.)Don't use Orbit camera tool.
3.)Only use the rotation tool on the null object
4.)Layer> Pre-compose -- apply "time remapping"
for "bullet time" effect.

" I have manage to make my own evolution presets and as i have observed, it is as similar to what your Evolution product is offering. It is just a matter of keying and stroke animation... Correct me if I am wrong.. the export settings for evolution to have its alpha is "Loose less with Alpha." any one can create his/her own evolution. it is just a matter of hardwork and some imagination of creativity... I still give Andrew the credit for making evolution.. Its a great product for people who are too lazy to make their own presets... Peace!

... However, I'm still having trouble with the particles. Even when I parent them to the Null object they remain motionless... So how did you make the logo spin? =O~~

Actually I just figured it out. If anyone was having the same problem as me try this method. Make a Null object, placing it's anchor point in the center. Make it a 3D layer and parent it to all the objects you wish to be moved. Then go into Transform, create a stopwatch for Orientation and keyframe as you see fit. I like this program =D

I've learned a great deal in the short time I've used After Effects thanks to your tutorials. I make a point to watch at the very least 1-2 a day and mimic the lessons. Hopefully with you're help I will be able to ween myself off the tutorials and work on my own. That being said I do I have one piece of criticism. You didn't show us how you made the logo spin around. I would be grateful if you or someone else would give me the steps necessary to achieve that. Thanks in advance!

For anyone having trouble animating the design: To animate it all you have to do is create a null object, turn it into a 3D layer. Then link the camera to the null object, then animate the null object's y rotation. Hope this helps. :) - Eric Sheffey

Well i do exactly the same things as you to at this part with the particles.. i turn on the global switch for motion blur turn the switch on for the layer and it doesn't have any change.. I use After Effects 7 professional is it because of version or what? :( also i tried CC force motion blur but it doesn`t make it.Please tell me what to do. The first time i saw the tutorial i liked this light streaks and god i wanna learn how to do it. Thanks in advance and thanks for all tutorials!

I have a little prob. When I import a texture from the Evolution disk it loads every texture from 1-35 in the same jpg file :S so when i RAM preview it all the 1-35 textures is loop played at the screen:S whats my prob?

To Pippo90: Look from the top view. First camera-position keyframe looking at the front, second keyframe looking at the side (90 degrees), last keyframe looking at the back. The camera motion path now forms a half circle. The difficulty is getting a perfect half circle. I myself precomposed all the layers that form the Title plate object (made the Particles also a 3D layer) and let it rotate around its center. Andrew Kramer himself points to his advanced camera tutorial for a solution to the problem. So there are many ways to attain a smooth Title Plate rotation. I hope this helps...

Yes I agree... Camera tutorial on the Evolution advertisement that plays when you click on MORE INFO... The moves and transitions from one scene to another are great. If I could capture the video and study it in slow motion then you can probably figure it out.

Andy? How about something on Evolution opening information video? I would gladly pay for such knowledge...

If you want to get the camera around smoothly, just change the point of interest.

About difficulties with the camera movement: Link the point of interest of the camera to the position of the glow layer (for example) with a pick whip expression. Then let the camera move around the object.

Bryan Long... If you REALLY want to learn, you will follow along with the tutorial and make your own project files rather than ask for them all setup and ready to go without you lifting a finger...that is if you really want to learn After Effects.

really nice, You should create some more tutorials dealing with text, mainly that can be used for intros, or commercials, I've followed many and purchased riot gear, the sounds, and evolution, but I'm having trouble creating good effects going from one text flyby, to another to create a 30 second commercial. >-(

Okey! I managed to solve the above problem. I did it by adding a NULL object and parenting the camera with the NULL object. With the NULL object I could pivot around my created 3D comp. and add camera movements without zooming in or out. When I tried without the NULL object, just by the camera, it always zoomed in and then back out again.

My question, to anyone who could answer this, is: Why didn't it work just like that with the camera?

I hope someone could tell me the answer. I went to bed pretty late fighting to get this right! Managed at 2 a clock midnight (HOLLAND).
