Great presentation and organization. Now get rid of the annoying, "So...so...so," "Basically," and "Actually," and you'll sound just like an adult! And yes, sounding mature helps when trying to market a commercial product. Even to college grads.

You...deserve a knighthood. 'Sir Andrew Kramer'... has kind of a nice ring to it, I think.

Wow, great stuff but at the same time you fly really fast. Are all the source DVDs this fast too? You skip right over the fact that you select off of Layer:Volcano, and select to Composite Volcano 2. That screwed me up the first time I tried this, if you miss that step and stay on Layer you basically do nothing.
Then later when you're talking about Mask Expansion around 4:02, and Motion Feather. You don't mention that you have to click the M button twice quickly to bring down all four Mask paths. If you don't and just click the M button once, only 1 selection will show "Mask Path" but the other 3 will not. I'm on a Mac so that might be why. This is the second attempt at this and I'm having to watch the screen like a hawk at every single click or any change of the screen. It's working so far on the second try :)

I don't mean to sound rude, but not one thing you're teaching here is having any sort of effect on my program. Nothing. It would be nice if you would do one more of these, maybe covering it a different way will help.

My mask expansion has 2 coordiniates, the one in this video only has 1 coordinate. And when I take mine to -4 it shows no effect on the sides (when I try on either one of the 2 coordinates).

Matt, I had the same problem. This video had no effect on my program. So frustrating. Try this, it worked for me: cover your computer in thick insulation and make sure to block off all of the airflow to the fans inside. Computers don't work right when they are too cool in temperature. The more heat the better. Heat it up and soon your computer will be cooking away so fast you won't believe it.

Took forever to find this. I kept typing in Animating Still Photo, and the results would show nothing. I typed in Volcano and it pulled up this video. Not sure why it wouldn't have been pulled up with the words I typed in since all the words were there except Photo.

I think the name of the volcano is Eyjafjallajökull because he didnt wanna embarasse himself like so many other ppl have by trying to pronounce the name :D

Question: Can i use someone's still aerial photo, and impose an explosion, with the billowing smoke using action essentials, so that i dont have to rent a helicopter, get permits to fly over a town, and all that expensive stuff...?

This is one of my favorites, Andrew!
Also great job on the Super 8 titles and trailers - one of the best movies of all time, glad you could be a part of it.

Nicely done and nicely explained. Apart from the expressions, the steps can be followed, though the brain is often quite close to falling over. Useful.
