maybe i'm wrong but in your video it looks as if there is a trail of broken wind, similar to how it appears that "The Bullet" is breaking wind as it travails through air only in this case it follows the light streak. i could be totally wrong but in you're tutorial it appears you left that out. i would love to learn how to add this.

I am just curious that where do you get those genious ideas? I mean have you studied AE for a long long time or how do you manage to set up those amazing things?

Hey Andrew, love your stuff, only one problem, when I go to put the grid over top of the street and I select the Generate Grid effect, its a grid but then a black background behind the grid and I cant get the black to go away so I can see the street footage, it goes away when I click the eye of course but then also hides the grid. I do not have after effects to try all your tutorials but I downloaded the trial version but it has now expired.

Do you need to create the ground plane in order to have the light cast on the ground footage? Does it cast the light the original footage if you do not create the ground plane?

Hey Andrew, great tutorials, but you knew that already, didnt you? Anyways, first of all, thanks for all the free stuff.

It's probably asking for too much, but I think that if you were to display subtitles, showing the steps, kind of like cornell style notes, it would make remembering the steps easier. That way you could keep track of the steps, and the changes you make as you go along. Anyways, thats my 3 cents.

Yea, I'm also on an earlier verion of Particular, v1.5. If you change the velocity really close to 0, the particles are emitted in line form, which produces an effect close to what the amazing Mr. Kramer is doing.

Just wanted to ask, I noticed in your demo as the energy ball flew by the street it distorted the background a bit, like it was affecting the street with some sort of a bulge or something... Is that right? I didn't see that covered so I wasn't sure if that's just a finishing touch you added...

The only AK tutorial which has only 1 funny moment :) otherwise this was an action packed Tutorial just like the Action 2 DVD.

One thing to appreciate is the way you show how do things with and without 3rd party plugins.

Also was wondering if we can add 1 more plane perpendicular to the ground plane and casts lights on the car's nearby to increase the realism. Maybe you want us to try that out !!

I've only been using After Effects for about a week and a half, and I've already been able to accomplish most everything in your tutorials, you've really helped me see how amazing this program is.

Thank you so much! This tutorial has been great! Me and my siblings are making a movie for my Grandpa who just ended his fight with cancer. This effect really helped us a lot. One question though, I rendered the light ball, but then it was really slow on my quick time player. Is this how it will turn out in the movie?

Throw a massive tremor in there when the ball reaches it's closest point to the camera and it really ads...reference the baseball swing tutorial.

Andrew, Which is the difference between using the "normal" traker, using a null object and track as you did in the tutorial?

Nice tutorial, as always. I'm wondering - really as a point of theory - why it's necessary to do all that reverse tracking. Couldn't you track the original camera shake, apply it to a null and then parent the AE camera to that null (after setting it's original position and orientation)? I'm sure you thought of that and there must be some reason, but it's escaping me.

Wow AK-47, thats a beautiful effect, I think I have some ideas for this effect, is there a that we can add some shimmer effect to the floor lighting? You know, like if there is a fire on the street, we can give it that flicker effect?
