Great Preset! It would be great too if you can add a "Blur Falloff" with the same technique, i think that a Fast Blur effect will be more render friendly than the built in the camera, but if not it can apply a lens blur for a "bokeh".

hi, get stuff as usual. i have a question. if i want to use the preset but fade in then fade out, is it possible? how do i control it. i've tried duplicating the fade sliders, the control layer but can't get it to work. am i missing something?

I noticed in this project you use a 24 fps setting. How would this translate in using an animation like this for television? I assume a PAL seting wouldn't work well for NTSC tv, right? Is there much of a difference? If so, why do you use PAL? Does it work better for the web? Or is it a personal preference?

Hey Andrew I was watching one of your old tutorials
(Frame Rate Conversion) and realized that you already had the 3d Falloff preset way back in January 2007. Anyway just something that I noticed, great tutorial keep up the good work and have a great holiday.

That's a pretty cool preset... It would be even better if it could blend in parts of a large 3D layer. I would need it for a "floor" that isn't facing the camera 100%. Parts of that layer that are farther away should fade out.

Am I wrong or did u use something similar on the Fringe Intro? Either way the preset is awesome.
I remember animating a scene using you technique that I learned watching the 3d offset tutorial and I was working my head out to get a proper DOF setting. With this is 2 clicks only. Great one!

Great preset! Funny Elvis joke. Good times all around.

Is there anyway to use this or some other trick with particles so that they cover up layers that are closer in 3D space? Right now they just sit on top of everything if the layer is on the top. The only workaround I know is to duplicate the particle layer and fade out the beginning or end.

you don't have to restart after effects to load presets, there is a little arrow next to the effects on the right and there is a refresh button in it. Awsome tutorial btw

impeccable timming drew, im making an intro to a local web show. the intro has nothing but stills w/ a camera zooming past mid soon to be foreground elements. funny thing is i needed something to hide the pixelated hands of a concert crowed when the camera moves through them, then BAM! andrew hits me square in the eye w/ yet another extermely useful tut!
