My friends and I appreciate this very much.
VFX course by Olgun UrgaƧ 11/06/2009 Great Tutorial ;) by fghdfgdg 09/02/2009 this is just amazing. by mike 08/26/2009 very nice info...let me add my 2 cents to this blog by sharing a really good resource of 3ds max tutorials at http://appslog.com/blog/1-blog/796-huge-list-of-3ds-max-tutorials.html they really have a huge list of tutorials. by carl 08/21/2009 WEW! huhuhu i think im gonna cry!! I keep getting that slipping of the objects. So if you can, show me what I need to do. thanks alot. P.S. Your doing gods work here, short from walking on water, but with AE, I'm sure you can! by Hafeez 06/06/2009 Just a small tip for people who stop with this Part 1 tutorial and not go to Part 3. 'coz of that none of the NULLS stick to the plane and keep moving. The hint is in the end of Part 1 when Andrew says, "It gets little tricky for this composition". The trick is the Pixel aspect ratio correction by adjusting the Camera Zoom value (*1.111) and changing the comp to 1280 * 720, which Andrew explains in the beginning of Part 3. Hope this helps people like me who didn't cross Part 1 due to 3DS Max ![]() Now my Nulls stick to the footage like a leech. by stig olsen 06/04/2009 Thanx Andrew (from Norway) I have a problem importing my boujou-file into After Effects. There is no null-objects visible on my timeline. You know what is wrong? Its just one layer. by Satish Salvankar 06/01/2009 good one by Dillon Pearce 05/21/2009 Very nice tutorial! ROFL at the end ' A cold refreshing... pepsi' first joke I actually laughed properly at :P by akif 05/13/2009 Hi Andrew; First of all thanks for all those useful tutorials, basic training, videos, pictures, free effects... i really love way you teaching. clear voice, good quality videos and important tips. my english is very poor but i can understand every words of you say. that's really good for me. with kind regards from Turkiye. by Killerz 05/06/2009 gud work dude... it really helps a lot.. by lal604 04/28/2009 how long have u been animating now? by Deepak 04/08/2009 hello andrew sir, i want to tell u why you do not use maya for 3d work . by kanath 04/07/2009 hi like your tutorials vmuch. very use full things by walkworld 04/02/2009 I was wondering, when you import the boujou camera into AE the comp resolution seems to be different from the export resolution. when I export at 1920x 1080 I get a comp that is 1728 x1080. I noticed this happened in your tutorial as well. My question is , what is the correct way to scale this comp to fit the original footage? (or vise versa) and why does this occur? I saw another tutorial in which the author manually scaled his footage to fit the size of the new comp but I was wondering if there is a better way. Forgive me if this has been asked already but I dont have time to read through all of the "cool tutorial!" "wow great job!" comments in order to find out. Having said that , cool tutorial! great job! by DT 03/24/2009 Hello Mr Andrew, you an amazing man, i like all your tutorial and you work, anf how you teach the tutorial, i am animator 2D 3D, and character designer, but thank you very much i learn from you very much thing in less time, keep going on man by adam 03/19/2009 Andrew, you lightened up a depressing week, and ignited long forgotten ideas within me! By the way, i trying to find out how to track moving objects - like a moving head with trackers´- in boujou and add 3d elements. so far without any results . Perhaps the next tutorial hehe!?by Davideo 10/02/2008 Great to see your workflow for Boujou it can be a joy and sometimes a pain. I like the other commenter change the preferences so the co-ordinates system is Max friendly. I didn't realise you could alter the Camera settings AFTER you track I always setup the camer settings i.e. framerate before tracking. Boujou isn't too keen on standard video camera footage i.e interlaced footage as probably most of your readers/viewers use this, in their own films/videos, you can help it along tho if you shoot the scene you intend to track at a much higher framerate, (obviously this depends on your camcorder settings) as long as you stay in your NTSC or PAL settings increasing the frames per sec on you camera even if its higher than PALs 25fps or NTSC's 29.97fps the footage will still adhere to that standard so if you shot at 1000 frames per second in PAL (thus reducing motion blur, Boujous deadly ememy) when you import it into Boujou it still will be PAL 25 FPS (or more accurately interlaced 50fps) this will dramatically improve your tracking success rate. Excellent informative stuff Andrew. ACE!! by Axel 10/02/2008 Fatastic. I've been looking forward for this. by Michiel 10/02/2008 If god created us all. Im really looking to learn more about 3d tracking and I was wondering how you learned. Are there any good books or websites that you can recommend for someone who wants to learn 3d tracking/boujou? Thanks and the new tut is very helpful by Vegar 09/30/2008 Man, these tutorials are so much better than anything I've seen on the web. This site is were I learned AE ans I'm still learning new things everytime. Thanks! by Tom Hauville 09/30/2008 Awesome! I thought I had a good handle on match-moving, but I've learned some important fundamental stuff here! If only this had come out 2 months ago, my last project might have been a whole lot less painful! by Anon 09/30/2008 I think you should create a new button for this web in each tutorial with some text like: "ZOMG holy f***in' sh*t, Andrew this is so cool how do you do it Thankyouyouarethebest omg!!!!11one" instead of a retarded-driven comment board full of useless comments, only 0.1% of them are helpful or even interesting in any way. It doesn't have to be like this if you separate the "thanks" from the "interesting comments" that are being ignored now by being lost in the immensity. Many sites have rules such as "All comments that doesn't contribute to the thread will be moved or deleted". I know there is a forum, but this should be where people talk and provide useful information about the tutorial. This site could be better... if you want. (feel free to edit this post as you like) TL;DR: Whenever you want to thank Andrew and request for a new useful comment board with no "thanks" at the same time, post the text: ZOMG holy f***in' sh*t, Andrew this is so cool how do you do it Thankyouyouarethebest omg!!!!11one by Gregory Dillard 09/30/2008 does this apply for C4D as well? by Swinters 09/30/2008 Nice one, Handy Andy strikes again. by ccfilms 09/30/2008 wow, learned a couple other things that i've never knew... by Bob Smith 09/30/2008 Uhh! Larsen 09/30/2008 Oh, and by the way: When you add the Coord hint for the Y-axis, and origon, you didnt click the update coordinates button. Thats why it looks all messy in the 3d view inside of Boujou. Otherwise, nice tut :) Looking forward to part 2 and 3 by peter 09/30/2008 thnx a lot. i allways wanted to know how boujou works. great tutorial! by Stian B. I would have thought you would need to use tiffs or something higher quality. Is there any type of shot where you would want to use a higher quality image sequence? by Tom 09/30/2008 I really agree with Maarten. This simply is the ONLY good clear boujou tracking tutorial on the web and trust me I have searched.
