I found this quite fun, but it would also be a lot cooler, I think, if there was a tutorial that showed how to make an orbiting moon, as well.
I'm using lowly CS3... any idea how I access the mode - hard light - opacity when on the fog. I found hard light in the layer - blending - hard light but no options to reduce opacity :'(

Hi Andrew,
Congratulations, great job.
I have a problem with this tutorial because I can´t to link one the pre compose each other. I am using After effects cs5 full version, please check these link to help me.
I'm sure you've already received your answer to this post as it is from a few months ago, but I was having the same problem in CS5 until I realized I wasn't holding the "alt" (option) key while clicking. I just missed him saying to do that. If this isn't the problem with yours, I hope you've figured it out by now and I wish you luck!
IT'S WONDERFUL!

The tutorial was wonderful... the song... so so...
maybe you are using a older version of AE which does not have cc sphere permission to render out. I am guessing you have a trial version of it. get CC sphere at cycorefx.com. I hope this help.

Hi Andrew. Thanks for these great Tutorials. I have just purchased AE CS5.5 and I have been watching this tutorial The Blue Planet.Around the 8min 6 sec mark, when its time to add the atmosphere, I think you Alt double click on the Master Earth mask. You are then taken to a screen with earth map on it. When I try this I am taken to a screen with the earth as a globe. Not sure what is happening here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I'm sure you won't read this since it's been 3 months from when you posted this comment, but to anyone else wondering, you just need to double-click on the Master Earth comp instead of Alt double-clicking when using CS4/CS5/CS5.5!

Andrew,
Thanks for the informative tutorials. I have just started using after effects, but your help made it easier to jump in and start creating video effects. It is very exciting to be able to actually branch into the world of advanced graphics. Very well done!
I had a question about the graphics that were provided for this tutorial: are they provided under your video copilot license?

Thank you very much for posting all these tutorials. I have been working in Photoshop and Illustrator for many years, now that I have learned After Effect, I can bring my art alive. Your tutorials have help me very much in school, and I show all my classmates your website. Even my teacher said he will pass on this website to his future students.
Thank you again Robrtto M
