HEllo, I recently purchased the new Optical Flares Bundle and was watching your 'smoke screen' tutorial. I work with After Effects CS5 and can't seem to locate the 'Alpha Inverted' selection to make the initial cloud photograph transparent. My cloud is WHITE and the backround for the picture is BLACK, the opposite of what you used in the tutorial...how can I make my cloud transparent...???
try usin the 'Luma Matte' instead of the 'Luma Inverted Matte' used by Andrew in the tutorial. I have white clouds and black background too, and 'Luma Matte' seems to work to make the background transparent.

im up to changing the Particle Type to "Custom"
but its not there.
I think they changed the name to "sprite" but when i attach the smoke element nothing comes up... Please help...

Hi, I'm also having the same problem as James: that the outline of my smoke elements are just going an awful black instead of being transparent.. I'm using After Effects CS4.. any ideas?

ok... why is it that some of us OBVIOUSLY download the project files and ONLY see the jpg there? do we not know how to make an aplha channel out of it?

I love you, Like seriously. The way you teach leaves people room for alot of personalization. Much better than the project dowloads you find on youtube, with those everyones product is the same. Keep it up :)
