nice seen your experience on the planet. I use imovie 08 software limited to your adobe after affects. However, it looks similar with layers of effects to make the video stand out.
This year i have started attending a technical school for digital media and design. Prior to these classes I never even heard of what after effects was. I can now produce commercials, intro's for music artists, news anchors, ect. and many visuals for my family to "ooohhh" and "ahhh" over. Thank you Andrew and the video copilot team for not only previewing but going into explicit detail that the non tech savvy ( like myself) surely need. That and it's all FREE! you guys are crazy, and i love it, keep up the good work.

Was just watching Superman/Batman Apocalypse on Netflix Instant Watch... If you go about 15-16 minutes in to where Supergirl flashes back to Krypton exploding...
The actual explosion portion is animated, but the chunks of the planet seem to use the exact shatter effect and look just like they used the tutorial.

I second that Paul! If they want other tutorials, I can recommend a site called digital tutors.com , only thing is, they charge like $49 per month and the tutorials themselves aren't even half as good as what Andrew does.

Thanks for the tutorial, just one thing; it would have been nice to have known that you needed Action Movie Essentials for the explosion. Anyway I found a substitute.
I was wondering, could you could continue this tutorial and create a black hole distorting and sucking in the space and fractures of the planet.
