This was so helpful! Thank you so much for posting these. I only had one issue. My video source wasn't lining up with my disintegrate and was also bigger. This was all in the Disintegrate 2 comp. Any ideas?

I want to do table top Steve and I would like it if it's real. I would say that if the mine craft Steve comes in real life he will protect me until next january.

Really hope someone can help me, I'm to the point in the tutorial where I'm using the adjustment layer and linking it to the video input via displacement map, but its cutting my actor in half at the waist. I've watched the video several times, I don't have any other layer in the way. http://postimg.org/image/o8lj52nrh/

I wonder if this tutorial can be used to make like a smoke dash like in Infamous Second Son.

This is too complicated. I could hardly follow you up to 15 minutes into the tutorial, and then I gave up because the steps simply had different results in my video than in your tutorial. This is probably a tutorial for people who have worked with After Effects for years.

I've been using after effects for a few weeks. This tutorial is very easy for me to follow and I ended up with really good results (no, not perfect, but still pretty good)
You just need to pause the video after each step and take your time to get it how YOU think it should look instead of just using all the same values as the tutorial. :)

Hello Andrew!
That`s really nice effect. But the thing is, I need to apply it somehow to a moving object without affecting the background(it`s not a green screen). How do I do that?
Marno

I use Nuke to key the object out without a green screen, Its much easier and very quick. Then I apply the Effects in After Effects.

Hello Andrew!
How can I make the disintegration from the center of the body? :)
Thanks!

I've done it before. Go back to your Original Texture Comp. Instead of a Linear Wipe, use an Iris Wipe.

I love this, been so much helpful thank you. I did want to know, instead of a linear wipe how could you use an Iris wipe instead. And if so how?

This is great. I plan to use this. Can you possibly make a teleporting tutorial? And also, do you think you will eventually release a Planet Pack for Element 3D. I saw what you guys did for the Star Trek intro and it would be awesome to create galaxies of our own.

Hi Andrew,
You're doing a kick ass job. Big Fan!
I'm working on a student project.
And I was trying for a similar effect.
I wanted to show withering skin; as in a man's hand has cracks which are glowing with probable lava-like fire and ash flying out of it. I've been trying for long. But it ends up looking fake!
