If you are a student/educator, you can get all Autodesk products (including 3DSMax) free.

The point of these tutorials is not to simply copy everything Andrew does, but to take certain methods and procedures and create your own things! Andrew points out various uses of this effect with text and other objects.

To me, it got more interesting once 3ds max was introduced as its great to see what after effects can accomplish when integrated with other applications. Be grateful you did not have to pay to watch the tutorial...

lol. i followed exactly the steps and after running the script and opened it in 3ds max 2011, again another problem occur. The position of the camerar and the position of the null object is not in the place it should be.

How do you make a JPEG sequence? Please help!!
Joseph
08/16/2011
add your sequence to the render queue, open up lossless, from the drop down menu "change format" to JPEG sequence, hit ok and render, make sure you know where you saved it. good luck

Can anyone tell me why my text isn't staying on the Y Axis? I followed all the steps but when I play through the video, the text angle does not correspond with how my camera is orbiting around. It stays in the same position, but is always facing my direction. Please help!

You have to turn on 3d mode for the text layer

would you please tell me what is your computer system performance? like cpu, ram, and graphic card. Thank you.

You're good enough with a Dual Core for most things and an ATI HD 5800 or GTX 400 is also more than enough for most things. I upgraded my PC from 6GB Ram to 16GB Ram and from two HD 5850 in Crossfire to one Geforce GTX 580. But frankly said that doesn't show off most of the time. I only see a great difference when I'm working in 3D.
Anyways:
Good ideas but a bad system might work. Bad ideas and a good system is doomed to fail.

Hi Andrew. I loved the tutorial and I'm a fan & a customer for a few years

If you don't mind, I have a little question.
How did you shoot it in this way that the camera is orbiting around them while the shot is frozen ?

You said "you wanna be on a dolly, lock it off and slide.." but how does it orbit around a still frame?

Would really appreciate an answer

Hey! Andrew... great tutorial...

I had a problem with running the script for exporting data. I'm using After effects CS5 and i guess that script is not supported for CS5 . Can u suggest some alternative or maybe a script that could help me out on this.

Thanks
