After watching your installation tutorial carefully several times, I have installed the easy reflections preset and it is coming up fine in my preset list however when I drag onto a layer I get "This favorite contains 2 references to missing effects. Please install the following effects to restore these references ("CC RepeTile", "CC Composite") Any help would be much appreciated

hi, i just wanna know if this presets works with cs4, and i have the spanish version.

For all you people who are still having trouble with the presets, you need to install them in this directory:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS4\Support Files\Plug-ins\Effects

I only found this out a while ago, as I realized in my After Effects CS4 program files, there is no presets folder. Putting the presets in the Effects folder seemed to do the trick for me.

Hey.. andrew,, thanks you rock... any way to all who have a problem in presets just click above name project in the installation presets download it and extract it.. den follow instruction on how to install it.. im using a AE CS3 and its work fine.. and some presets like evolution and twitch are not free to download they are in the DVD its package just buy it...

To all who have CS4 i found the folder where to install the presets.

In this video it says:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS3(4)\Presets

BUT

it's in the

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS3(4)\Support Files\Presets

in each preset there are two buttons. One says "watch" one says "project"

I have a problem. My Adobe After Effects 7 pro doesn't see the presets. I made like you said. I copyed the presets in this path "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects 7.0\Support Files\Presets" and it doesn't work. I made a new folder and it doesnt't work too. I can see the presets using Animation > Brose Presets, but just see, I can't use them and can't see in the *Animation Presets.

When I insert the preset into the clip AE give me an error: it no foung any propriety of 'Slider'. Expression enoff. Error in line 1. Comp 1. Propierty 'Difuminacion' (like blur in inglish).

The problem is the languae of AE?

Hello My fellow people! I did not get a chance to read all the post so forgive me if this is a repeat. I purchased some presets from this site and upon putting them in my preset folder I got nothing. What I came to find out is if you simple copy the folder to the preset it does not work, most of the time. So I created a folder like Andrew called video copilot and copied the whole preset folder (In this case Film Magic Pro) to that and it worked! if anyone has any trouble or needs help please send me an email @ barrosproductions@gmail.com thanks and happy AEing

I am trying to save these presets to the computer. We are using CS3 @ school and there is no folder in after affects once I open it. And I cant figure out how to "unzip" the presets either. Bottom line is that I can't get the presets downloaded to the after affects folder on my computer.

This will probably sound really easy and dumb to you guys but I don't have some of the presets installed and can't find them on your site! lots of u seem not to find preset files .... well those are right here.... just click on any tutorial under the preset window .. there u have 2 options .. either watch video or download preset.. by choosing preset u can download them .. u may need to right click on it and choose save as .. but both ways it work ... AND ANDREW ... u r the onlyperson to post such fine tutorials ... god bless

whats wrong when i put in some presets, there are green x in my composition, what should i do? and i have AE CS3

alright, i downloaded the cs3 trial from the adobe site, but when attempting to try color keying i noticed that the keylight preset wasnt available with the trial. i have the greenscreen set up and everything, but the effects that cs3 gives you are pretty bad compared to the color keying tutorial.

Thought I'd try out the Reflections Preset and I was able to install it no problem and it shows up and it even applies it. The problem is it isn't doing anything I'm not getting a reflection from any Pics and I also tried some text with no result. What am I doing wrong, followed the tutorial to a "tee"? I'm using CS3. Thanks for your help in advance.

I just watched your ligtsaber preset on Creative Cow and downloaded the zip file you have there for that preset. When I try to install the preset I don't have the folder "preset". My question is: will these particular presets work in After Effects 6.0, or only 6.5 and 7? If they will work in 6.0 then how and where do I put the .ffx files?

I'm from Peru, I want to say thank you for all the great tool that you give to us, all the presets are very useful, and I want to participate a little, for those who have AE in Spanish I modified the presets so they can work correctly in that language, not all of them have problems so I only modify those who have it, the archive also includes de light saber preset V2, I hope this could be useful, you will need winrar to open the file.

Yeah.. I just right klicked on the after effects app. file and unchecked all languages but english...

Well the trick worked for what I needed! Plugins work.. And I can find all the effects and simple things even, which are hard to translate...!

Silly me! I thought that the presents could be downloaded all from this page. So I was confused when told to just click on the preset button- which there is none on this page. Each preset can be found on the individual tutorial page for anyone else blind like me.

just click on presets from the Top-menu and choose one of the presets 01 - 09, 00 is just an tutorial on how to install the presets, not an installer or something like this!

did you install a whole new english version, or just switched the language like I posted in my comment? Because it makes no difference except if you need to look something up in the online Help you still have the german version! I think it's a cool trick

Wenn du unter start ausführen: afterfx.exe -L EN eintippst, dann kannst du deine deutsche version in die englische umwandeln und hast trotzdem die möglichkeit nochmal was auf deutsch in der hilfe Nachzuschlagen. übringens: mode: screen -- auf deutsch negativ multiplizieren wer kommt denn auf sowas

Thanks to Speedbreaker and IllegalD, thanks for giving fast advice.... I solved the problem by changing my AE to english version... which I should have done way earlier already!

Things work now.. accept for the reflection on text.... any hints?

There are 2 buttons... one sais "watch" which plays the movie... the other sais "preset" which downloads the preset!

Hi guys, when it comes to computer stuff I'm really not too clued up. I extracted the file using winzip onto my desktop then put it manually into the presets folder of AE7. However it's not appeared in my effects...you mention unzipping the file...what exactly does that mean? Really sorry for the remedial refresher but could you break down what I should be doing really simply!

I unzipped the file and put it into presets but it wont show up even after i refresh it version cs3

I think you cannot change the name of an effect, but you can change the overall language of After effects.

For the translation script.

copy the javascript file into the folder "scripts" within the "Support Files" and then start After Effects.in german it is called DATEI_Scripting on the upper left of the screen. start the translation script. now select all effects, that have an expression and push the button. it works good in almost any case. for some translations you`ll have to manually edit the Scriptfile. I needed to edit it for the lense flare preset, because the "flare center" isnt define in the script. just look how it is written in your language and manually adjust it in the script.

hope this is going to help some of you.

just a little trick: First it was really hard for me to follow your tutorials because I'm using the german version of AE. And I always thought: mode: screen hmm what's that in german! So i figured out a cool trick! Perhaps it works with the expression problem too. In the windows prompt just type: "afterfx.exe -l EN" and After FX will start in english. I'm on a Mac G5 and one of the presets that you actually created but isn't on this site is the FPS converter for SD and HD footage. I downloaded the plugin from creative cow and put it into my presets AE 7.0 plugins folder but it doesnt come up when AE is loaded, cant figure out what's up with that. It's a .ffx file but the icon is actually different.. looks like a magic wand and the rest look like electrical plugs. Any clues?
