what's the best format to save raw footage image sequences ?

what do you need it for :?:

if you need an alpha channel i would suggest PNG

everybody has there own opinion :)

it's just "raw" hdv 1080i50 footage
i saved it to tiff allready ... that's a great format right? or has it some disadvantages?

your choice should be aimed towards what kind of system your running on....and as the others said....do you need an alpha channel? if you do then go for either a PNG or TGA.....TGA is a much better quality (uncompressed) but comes at a price.... the file size is much larger and there for caching pre-renders etc takes longer and work flow is generally slowly (unless you have the system to handle it)....

So id say TGA for quality ... PNG if you dont have the system for it.
