Autodesk Stuff (3Ds max, Maya, etc) free for some! AWESOME!

Teachers and Students get autodesk stuff... FREE! Of course, you aren't allowed to sell it, but it's still pretty awesome. Maya's over 6000 dollars, and 3ds max is around 4000... it's worth it.

When I say "sell", I mean like selling stuff you made with it.

Unfortunately, thats the catch, your not supposed to use it for commercial purposes only education use. theres some kind of agreement, may even have a water mark. but not quite sure...

I know. It's still kinda cool for home videos, etc, though

It may have changed, but Autodesk also used to offer the previous revision to students rather than the current one, and I know some functions had been crippled.

Yeah. But, I mean, versions mostly don't change much. I mean, I would probably want 3Ds max just as much if it was the same as it's previous version.

Its a full current copy, its just that every file created on a student copy of a program is marked as created on a student version. So models can not be sold but that is the on:y watermark. great way to learn the programs, legally.

You can only open your files that you saved with the student version in the maya that is was saved from, only from that computer and that version. and everytime you save the file, a reminder appears saying its a student version, asking you to continue. But other than that, there are no watermarks on the renders or any limits. Just that you dont use it for commercial purposes. :D
