Trouble with Photoshop CS6 and 3D features

Postby IggyVanZen on 12/17/2013, 6:27 am

I've just started using the 3D features of Photoshop CS6. I've created a new diffuse texture for my 3D model, but I can't find where its saved. I've tried many options to get Photoshop to save the file into the project folder, and I've even tried creating a separate PSB file and then loading that into the Diffuse. Every time I do this, it will load in the file, but then when I make edits and save, It will create a new file and save it somewhere else, leaving the file I created alone. Does anyone know why this is? At one point I found a PSB file with the same name in the Temp folder with in my AppData folder, and I don't know why.

I've opened up a project file created in an earlier version of PS (i got this from Digital Tutors) and everything worked fine, (as in Photoshop used the correct texture files). What am I missing here? I've heard that Photoshop's 3D features are a bit dodgy, but even if thats true, why would it do something this strange?

Thanks for any help I can get.
