Pickwhip Value PLUS wiggle

Postby Timber_Wolf_2 on 06/10/2016, 1:48 pm

I struggle with adding two expressions to the same parameter, and most of the search results I could find were either too complex or not what I was looking for.

How do I add two expressions the same parameter?

Specifically, I want my opacity to reference a slider control on another layer, and I want the resulting value to wiggle.

I can't have the slider value itself do the wiggling, because there are multiple opacity layers working off that same slider value. It has to be reference first, then wiggle.

But how???

Pickwhip the opacity slider control then "+wiggle(x,x);"

When I do that, it slams the value all the way up at 100%, even when the value I'm pick whipping is only 50, and I add the teeniest amount of wiggle(2,10).

Disable the expression, set opacity to zero and re-enable expression. Wiggle moves around the original value, so if your original value is 100 it gets added to the wiggle.

THAT WORKED! thanks so much! I figured that expressions would override whatever the original value was, unless it used the original value as a variable.
