Photoshop Character into After Effects

Hello everyone,

I have created a cartoon character in Photoshop (Everything on seperate levels) and it works perfectly on Character Animator CC. Now, Character Animator is more for live performance so I would like to animate on After Effects. My question is, is it do-able? If yes, is it the best option? I tried importing but my psd file wont show all of the elements on after effects so Im guessing I have to change some levels etc. Can some one help me? Thank you in advance!
