Make Fractal Noise Follow Mask Track

Postby Cleverhill on 11/15/2017, 5:41 am

Hi!

I'm trying to make some kind of a facial effect to a short I'm working on. I've decided to play around with fractal noise and face tracking.
In the first example in the video under I tracked the females face first, then applied a Solid Layer which I masked around her face. I then added a fractal noise effect.

In this example the fractal noise works like I want it to, but the track is bad. It was hard to get a good track.

In this new method (video under) I masked her face, right clicked on the mask -> Track Mask -> Face Tracking (Outline Only). With this I got a much better track, but now I have issues with applying the fractal noise.

Kind of hard to explain, but I hope the videos I put up helps you understand my problem. I have a deadline tomorrow and would really appreciate any help at all!

Thanks in advance.

It looks like the noise has no motion, just check that you animated it and verify timeframes or any expressions you might have used.

The Fractal Noise has the same evolution speed in both clips. Everything about the fractal noise effect is the same - copy/pasta

Well then I don't see what's wrong.

Hi, it looks like in the first example the noise is being tracked to the face, and in the second the mask is moving but the noise isn't locked to it. I'm on CS6 so am not sure how to give any advice about face tracking - can you add the tracking information to a Fractal layer and use the masked layer as a track matte?
