Creating a 3D sky scene with the lightning tutorial.

Postby deepSoup on 07/9/2017, 10:28 pm

Hi I want to recreate the Cloud part of the recent lighting tutorial but 3-Dimensionally, so I could per say use some green screen footage of me in a little cardboard plane flying around in a storm of rainbow lighting?

Anyways I tried just curving the 2D shot of clouds around in an arc around my character to create the scene, butt I think I can do better than that, besides it would be cool to have some more dynamic shots.

Would you recommend putting cut up 2D cloud layers with the lightning effects dispersed in 3D space or Creating 3D clouds with Particular or something else or is there a better way?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks. :D

you could combine it with tutorial 149: solar atmosphere
there is a comp in there that you can make it into a spherical map
by just switching out the image for your video..i forget the name it was something like seemless spherical comp.
then just use it as a ae enviroment map....
