Random straight lines.

Postby maxmitch on 01/9/2013, 5:16 am

Hi
I am looking for a way to make random (x,y) directions [not z]of weight say 2px lines to appear until an object becomes completely black, behind a mask of a circle for example. Similar to this https://vimeo.com/39792837 at 00:49 - 01:12. Apart from not 3d.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I can't see your example due to restrictions on the network where I work, but from your description, it sounds like there are several ways to do what you want.

To create random lines of black:
A particle generator (any of several).
Card Wipe (probably your best bet). Perhaps two instances?
Some instances of Fractal Noise (scaled non-uniformly) in a precomp used as a track matte.

Fast. Cheap. Good.
Pick two.
