Optical Flares flickering from 2D Occlusion

Postby thefiend1 on 01/11/2018, 5:38 pm

Hello,

Im using Optical Flares for Nuke and im having an issue where the flares are flickering (sharply decreasing in size) from using 2d occlusion (sample method: alpha).

The way im using the 2D occlusion is basically to tell Optical Flares: when the white area of the matte passes over the Nuke point light, show the flare. When it hits a black pixel, make the flare go away, or occlude. If I use a light radius of 0 or 1 (in the optical flare 2d occlusion setting), it does what I want except it causes the artifact im seeing. If increase that value to 5 for example, problem starts to go away but at the cost of flare not completely occluding - which is a problem.

Anyone know how to alleviate this? Im getting really frustrated trying to troubleshoot this and could use some assistance.

Thanks!
