Unable to view Optical Flare on White Background

Racking my brain over this... I've applied an Optical Flare to an adjustment layer. It shows when I move the adjustment layer over text or any other asset, but it simply doesn't show against a white solid... is this simply not possible? Even if I change the colour of the flare, it's not showing...

Any suggestions/thoughts are welcome. Thank you.

Well pure white is 100 brightness so flare really isn't going to work.

maybe you should tweak blending modes in the optical flares menu or click on checkbox that says "render on transparent"
