Well I didn't see any logs in it, but my guess would be it's a 3D rendering and not so much an AE rendering.

Yeah I know...should be maya or 3dsmax...my question is if they used dynamics to animate the barber wire...

Doesn't look particularly "dynamic" to me, just a bit of 'wiggle' on the shape. In C4D I'd use a spline as my shape and animate/clone along that.
There's probably umpteen different ways you could do it any 3D package from Blender through to Maya.

now its possible with after effect+E3d
just write your title and make it 3d with E3d then create a wire (as u see in this video) in 3d max or C4d any you want
then animate together with keyfreme
