Installing Trapcode on MAC

Hi all. So I recently got the trapcode plugins for mac. I want to install Particular. Now I did what it said to do and it showed up as a "missing file" in the effects search in AAE CS3. There was also no trapcode menu in the "Effects" Drop down menu. So I did some research and tried installing it to the Mediacore folder. That also didnt work. Theres a file in the folder that I have that has no extension but has Trapcode Particular as a name and opens up as a text file (random symbols everywhere).

When i install the file normally, i get the trapcode particular EFFECT and another folder for trapcode FFX. Only the ffx files come up in the actual program. But they dont even open or are usable.

Idk, what i'm asking is, is how to install the plugin properly and get it to work in AAE CS3 MAC. Thanks.
