Nice site with some good information. I'd love to see you tackle some more challenging tasks in AE rather than the cliche light streaks/clouds/lava etc and some of the 3D work needs some texturing fixing (I know the tutorial was on the modelling and not texturing/lighting).

Other than that, it's a good site that can definately help the beginner progress. Well done bud.

Daniel, nice to see that you can mingle with the other sort. :[p

Anyways Raf, I like the "cliche" tutorials as Daniel "kindly" put it. Many of the tutorials out there from "professionals" leave gaps in some techniques that people like you fill.

Keep doing what you are doing man, do not change a thing. :mrgreen:

Well, thank you both for your comments and advices. I think so far my tutorials were indeed a little more "express" rather than just in depth and the main reason is really because I really like to have a tutorial each week. I definably think some longer tutorials will naturally come out and everybody will be benefited on that. I do appreciate the fact unreal said it in a really constructive way,its important hearing from the industry that way, and its also as important hearing from a follower (and owner of a great website Mr. Eddie) ;)

I'm surprised Daniel even made a comment. He doesn't like youtube.

That's where Rafael uploads most of his tutorials to. And in your article you said "steer clear of youtube." Don't you remember your own words or was that just talk? :|

Ok guys, let me talk a bit here:

1. "Unreal likes me topic":What the hell guys? We don't know each other you know?! Sereously, unreal can be harsh sometimes but he is from the industry, he has a solid oppinion and i'm sure there are things he likes and dislikes about my site. To me, i want to learn from his advices knowing how to fliter the harshness.

2. "YouTube": I do use YouTube and blip.tv to host the videos because i don't want to get into codeing and flash player. I don't know how this even popped up but whatever...

3. I think we need to be more friendly. I think unreal's post in his website was a little disrespectuful considering that we all put a lot of effort in our websites. However, at the same time, we can't bomb him in every thread and every comment he makes.

4. Writing this is uncorfortable for me. I feel like i don't want to defend or attack any of you. In one side, you guys are all my friends and great contributors, but on the other side I feel like WE ALL need a realitiy shock that WE ALL have a looooong way to go in our sites, c'mon guys...Also, If we had constructive comments instead of bombs, it would be easier, but we can't expect everyone to do that, we need to make our own path.

5. Please, i tried to word myself properly, i would hate to insult anyone. Please reply gently and smartly if you have any concerns or comments. This can become a debate, but not a flame war.

P.S/- On a side note, i'm releasing another small Barage Band little albums this wednesday.

Sorry Raf, but I respectfully disagree.

Daniel is NOT in the industry. He is jobless. He is a freelancer just like many here.

Danial's terrible list includes:
* braproductions.net
* davidwoodfx.blogspot.com
* digidirectors.blogspot.com
* everythingae.webs.com/
* everythingfx.tk
* fxresource.webs.com
* moviemaker.co.nr

The sites above is the heart and soul of Videocopilot and I am honored to be on Daniels bad list of sites to do not visit. Everyone (if anyone) visits his site, they will go to our sites out of curiosity and realize he is full of it (and himself). Its free advertisement! Thank you!

He insulted all of us and is a hypocrite.

p.s. Please go visit my site (digidirectors.com) and see my last post about my cat. He doesn't want people to go see that post. It will show you how much of an ignorant ass he is.

Anyways Raf, please consider your source before making any changes. Look how far you have come. How far all of you have come.

Terribly sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not jobless. I am not a freelancer, otherwise I would most certainly advertise that on my blog in order to get work. I have been steadily employed in a studio for many years now and will continue to be.

It must suck to take a stab in the dark (a wild guess against all reasoning) and be so terribly wrong. Let me know how that feels.... actually don't. I don't care for the mindless rant.

@ Rafael: I agree with your post. Sorry for forcing these guys to highjack your thread from you. This will be my last response in this here thread.

Sorry Raf, this will be the last off topic post from me in your thread. I just cannot let him lie like he is.

@Dan
What studio is that again?

Ya, that's what I thought.

BTW, my business is called Edd Black LLC (Portland, Oregon USA). I cleared over $83,000.00 last year (not including my freelance photography). You can go ahead and do a check on that.

I know about business and I know when I see a BS'er.

I come here to play. Graphic design is not my profession. Be careful of who you attack Dan, one of these guys might be your boss (or your daddys boss) one day.

I worked for Hive Creative for many years and have recently moved to Compulsive Digital in Australia.

I took your advice and looked it up. For such a self pro clamied high roller you sure do love playing over 80 hours of online games. I wonder how you get the time ;) Nice story though gamer. (Proof Here) And before you say, "Oh that isn't me, I'm more like Donald Trump!" this ID even has your same catch phrase, "Be careful of the toes you step on today, for they might be attached to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow". I can hear the "Oh snap!' from here.

I know about business and I know when I see a BS'er.

Au contrare.

Not likely, but thank you for your concern. They are all much younger than me and have not even left school. Regardless of the fact that I live in Australia. (Oh snap?) Plus, if they can't handle critique then this isn't the business for them ;)

I won't embarrass you further, this is truly my last post in this thread. The floor is yours once again Rafael. Enjoy.

Your Google search skills are pro. :lol: Remember my business name is EDD BLACK LLC not EDD BLACK.

However, thank you for posting my 12 year old sons Steam account. If you are going to dig, dig about me and not my son. Then again, you like attacking children.

The Steam account is in my name because I bought the account for him and it is mine (however, I play Empire Total War, haven't for awhile though). After all, he is only 12. I let him play WOW a year ago for about a month and it was not pleasant, so I monitor his online interaction for the time being.

He does love TF2 and the new game Borderlands. In his defense, he is allowed to play 2 hours a day during the week and can go nuts on the weekend after chores and homework.

I take care of my family with my income through my business and my hobby. I also give back to communities by giving away free things like photography sessions and HD footage.

All you do is complain about people and try to discredit them. You are a child with no life experience. Get out of your hole of a city and explore the world and people before you even think you can compete with me child.

*Edit
I am checking your reference btw. Waiting to hear back from them.

I didn´t know you had such cool businesses. The fact you run something that is cool, successful, have a family and can still have time to have your own little site is awesome. On one way or another, this is what most people face. I go to school, so does David and many others, and we are building our future therefore we are dedicated in our school life, but we always find some time (we don´t know how) to have some minor updates, even if its about our cat or a short tip/tutorial. I completely understand your point here. In fact, I think this is the MAJOR issue that for some reason hasn´t been discussed, the fact this is not really how we get money from, its out contribution (of course there are a lot of exceptions).I was always happy by your comments, but now I am very honored to have them :)

Thank you for your kind words. I wouldn't say being a self employed contractor for FedEx is exactly "cool", but it helps me take care of my family. Don't get me wrong, times are still tough, but others have it tougher (like my parents).

I wish I had more time for my site and my photography. Maybe one day I will sell my routes and open my own studio. :D

Alright, now the discussion seems to be over but I feel like my opinion was a little controversial at some points, so I just made my final post about the topic. I would appreciate if the involved members could give their "final voice" to it too. Thank You.
