Oh no, don't get me wrong, Gimp definitely has its place and is a great free program. It is simply not my preference.

Now let me go watch that video.

That maybe true, but they don't have your star like quality! ;)

Keep up the good work David, you have what many lack...and that's people skills.

Yeah I'm like my mom in regards to people skills. I really hope to get a Youtube partnership so I can upload longer tutorials. Then I can have more fun and not worry about running out of time. And then I would do more After Effects tutorials since those take longer then Gimp. :)

Well, until you become a Youtube partner, you can use my webspace to host your tutorials and put them wherever you wish. I will have the room.

My domain will be transferred Oct.28th but can upload your files and you can link them back on your blog.

Thanks for the offer. I might do that. My buddy Derek said he would host the Photoshop tutorials for me.

All right, just what the VC crowd has been waiting for. First After Effects tutorial is up, it's in two parts, and I have a new mic with much better sound quality. Create a cool loading bar with some sweet sparks. :)

Very cool, saw it on YouTube couple of minutes ago. I like the fact you are teaching sveral techniques in a single tut rather than just focusing on how to make the bar. The sparks are really cool and although the tip about the speed has already been covered, this shows a different perspective. I´m glad you made an AE tutorial, let them come :)

If you're being sarcastic I won't tell you. If you are being sincere and thought the tut was atleast okay, I haven't had any formal training, all I know is from VC and other sites like Maltaannon, allbetsareoff, and creativecow. I would love to go to a vocational school but that's not very likely. :)

GUYS! Would you look at this article by Unreal!

http://gh0stdigital.wordpress.com/2009/ ... /#more-329

I think that is very rude and obnoxious. Nowhere on my site have I claimed to be a professional, merely a design student. If he doesn't like it too bad but that doesn't mean he should discourage others from exploring on their own. Those who are beginners may find this stuff useful even if a "professional" doesn't. :(

David, on the topic of unreal...

Do not think twice about it. Keep doing what you are doing.

I am a photographer and there are many "Unreals" in my world. They hold on so tight to their "secrets" barking at anyone that comes in their proximity.

The sad thing is, they do succeed in deterring others from reaching their goals.

Don't be one of the weak ones. the world needs more "Davids" and less "Unreals". ;)

Sent you a PM about a collaboration between me and you.

Thanks! I don't plan on being deterred but I am still burned up. Andrew is 100,000,000,000,000,000,000 times better than Unreal and he acts like a regular guy trying to have some fun. :)

I think he is wrong in calling you out personally David. It is a sign of bad character and insecurity.

Unreal is only 26 years old and lives in a hole (literally). He has no life experience, so take his insult with a grain of salt.

He is bitter and angry and unfortunately is taking out his rage on people who are just trying to "make it happen".

He is also talking about me.

I have a studio. Its in my garage. I call it my "gorilla garage" studio. I also give my hobby a name, Digi-Directors. I thought it was catchy and one day hope that my website becomes a business.

This does not make me lower class than anyone else.

He is a hypocrite. Take a look at his "pohotography".

The best way to combat people like him is to keep doing what you are doing. You will succeed and he will not because he will be too busy talking trash about you and your success. ;)
