Editing 2k Video on a full HD monitor?

Dear All,

I have a 22 inch full HD monitor. I need a 2k output for a feature film. Is it a good idea to invest on a 2k/4k monitor or can I edit/composite the video on a full HD monitor?

Please note that I am talking about monitor sizes and not composite setting which would still be film(2k)

Does anyone has a pointer for me?

2K is not that much more than HD, so spending money on a better monitor definitely isn't needed, all you would get is a little bit more pixels on your screen.

If you have the budget then get at least one 4k monitor. Two would be better. I use 2 x 4k plus an HD monitor. The more monitor real estate you have the easier it is to keep track of your work, especially if you have AE, Premiere and Photoshop (and FL Studio for me) running simultaneously. You'll also have the option to use one monitor as a full-screen preview.

Yes, I understand two monitors would improve productivity..
However, money is an issue at this time.

It is nice to know that Full HD is close enough to 2k. I might do well with existing monitor for now.
Thanks for your time.
