Way to clear used images?

Postby varxtis on 12/1/2016, 9:36 am

Is there a way to remove an image from a comp without going into the comp and manually deleting it within comp? I was hoping there was a trick to right-clicking the image and saying "remove from" and click on the comp you want it to be removed from. But I don't see any such option. I need to know how to do this without deleting the image from the project.

You can right click on image in project window and then find "reveal in composition", then just remove it, or even turn the eye off. Also, if you want to replace the image with another image, you can find it in the comp, hold alt while selecting the new image, and drag it down over the top of the image layer name in the comp. Hope this helped!

I appreciate the reply.
I was aware of both of these options. I'm hoping there's a third option, like right-clicking on an image in the project panel and choosing some sort of "awesome remove pic from all/desired comps" button or something. If I have a project with 100 comps, 10 Images associated with 10 comps each, then I have to go through each of the 100 comps individually and delete the images from the comps. I have a feeling that the "industry" has a way of doing things like this. Ive tried to look up Scripts. Figure if there are scripts to duplicate comps with their dependencies, then theres got to be one that tells the program/project to remove a selected/desired image from all comps.

If you delete your image from your project, it will delete it from the comps?
