the best export format from ae in windows

Postby mizako on 08/1/2016, 5:44 am

Hello

I've used mac before and I've always used prores codec to export movies out from after effects. Now I have windows version of AE and since the prores codec is apple format, I can't use it anymore. So what would be the next best choise to use in Windows? Or is the prores codec available on windows?

Thanks

Hello Mikko,

I use the avid DNX 444 codec in an .MOV wrapping. The codec can be found here: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_U ... d/en423319

ProRez is not available on windows.

Hope that helps

Cineform (which comes native in recent versions of AE and Premiere) is a good choice. If you have older versions, you can get GoPro Studio which comes with the Cineform codec for free.
