Extend the last frame of a move to the end on a composition

Postby gunnahafta on 03/28/2016, 5:36 pm

Hello,

I have a compostion approz 10 seconds long. I'm using a movie as a background plate that goes for 5 seconds. What I want to do is take the last frame from the video and extend that all the way to the end of the composition but I dont want to time warp it or stretch it. I tried that and the people moving in the vido started to go slow. Wondering if there is an easy way to do this other than taking a frame grab and insert that on the end all the way to the end.

Thanks.

make a new copy of the footage and move the timeline cursor to the frame you want to freeze. Right click and make a hold frame. (I think...)

Another way is to right-click on the layer and go to Time>Enable Time Remapping

• You'll see that you get two keyframes on the layer at the beginning and end.
• Go to the end keyframe, then go one frame before that.
• Set a new keyframe at that point, and delete the last keyframe.
• You can now extend the length of your clip to the end of the composition and it will freeze on the last frame.
