Getting started... The Basics.

Postby Director on 11/4/2009, 4:12 pm

Questions are listed below.

How do you open your own studio? (small business)
Are grants difficult to get or even worth trying to get?
Would it be worth trying to get bank loans instead?
How do you advertise? Theaters, cable in local areas, newspaper, word of mouth? And if so, how do you get people to start going by word of mouth?

Lots of questions, but they are all honest questions.

First, staff for places until you have savvy and experience in all aspects of the business. Then freelance until you have the clientele following to justify an overhead. Skip the loans. It just doesn't have to cost you enough to justify the stress or the gamble. Rent what you can't puchase as needed and buy as you go.
:=~ Not sure where you're comin from in talking about a grant for this. That's not gonna happen.
As far as advertising, you'll find the best advertising will always come from happy clients.
