My future as visual effects artist

Postby EwalduxZ on 11/2/2009, 11:40 am

Hello, I have been looking for information about VFX schools for some time, but not successful , so i thought to ask people who knows much more then I.
I read alot of topics in this forum about it, but still i don't get some things.
Now im 16 years old and I live in Lithuania and thing I know is that I won't stay in Lithuania, I prefer on going to England. I am looking to Escape Studios, but first thing I want to know about is price. I heared that you take credit from bank and when you finish school if your year profit won't reach 15k per year you don't have to return it, is that true? And is it so to Escape Studios? If no i can't afford to pay that, and maybe you can offer other schools?
Ok, now let's imagine that i finished this school, what's then? Is it easy to get a job? Or i just have to take job disconnected with VFX?

I'm very sorry for mistakes im done in this, but i hope its understandable. Please don't blame me for maybe stupid questions, but I just lost what speciality I have to take, and asking for your help. Thanks for your answers.

I think what your talking about is the uk student loans. you dont pay them off untill your earning over 15k a year but they dont just go away, so you do have to pay eventually. Im not sure you could get one to go to escape though as the courses are only short not 3 years like normal uni courses. may be worth looking though.

Contact escape and explain your situation I know they have lots of forein students so they may be able to help you.

Maybe think of going to uni first to do somthing like design or animation, then go to escape when you are ready to get ino the industry
