Need help in name bar creation

I am working on a name bar which comes across the screen to introduce the person (like in the news)
I have the shapes all sorted out and the animation of the shapes I will do later.
But i need help with texturising the bar or adding a certain light or color to it, so it doesnt look boring and flat
does anyone have any ideas. Any help would be great.

i have managed to come up with a good name bar
but one question.
When i export the name bar as a file and import it into fcp
it will not show properly as i knew it wouldn't
but how can i export after effect files with transparency details
so final cut know what is transparent and whats not

You are in Adobe After Effects and you have added your composition into the render queue:

First! Click on the underlined word beside "Output Module:"

Then, change the format of the file to that of a "QuickTime Movie"

Following that, modify the "Channels:" under "Video Output" to "RGB + Alpha"

When you export, you will get success.

Alright, in a more serious tone. Previously, you were exporting only the RGB channel of your video. The "transparency details" are what is called the alpha channel. By changing the video output from RGB to RGB + Alpha, you will create a file that has both the values of each color and the transparent pixels.
