Music Video Lights: pulsing light panel
For the life of me, I can't figure out where to buy something like this. See attachment for picture. Does anyone know where to find these? Looks like a wall of lights, headlights, pulsing or dimming together, like a 3x3 or 4x4 of even more. Seems like music videos and/or fashion videos use these stylized lights a lot. Any thoughts? Would love if anyone could point me in the right direction. Thanks so much.

What country do you live in?
In the USA, there are many production companies that rent out things like that.

The right direction --->

You need a bunch of PAR lights, something to mount them on (a piece of wood and a stand may suffice) and of course a lighting controller which allows for the desired effects and is programmable in case you don´t want to stand behind it all the time.

You could follow the 'wall of light' tutorial that comes with Optical Flares and shoot on a green screen or something. Won't look as good and will probably take more time than doing it practically, but it's a fall-back if hiring a big lighting setup isn't an option.

Thanks for the picture and the OF idea. I definitely want the real thing. I live in Eugene, Oregon, United States, and I doubt we have any production companies that rent out that kinda thing, so I will likely need to make it on my own.

HAHA! Seriously? Dude, there are tons of production companies in Portland that do rentals. This kind of company is used to sending things significant distances too. Two hours down the road is nothing. Look here!

Sure you do. This is just one of them. I live 100 miles from you and there are plenty of places in Portland where you can get these PARS as well. Pro Sound and Lighting is one that I've dealt with for years.

The 'classic' 9-light music video/promo light is what's called a Dino. All these videos use Dinos, usually the 9-light Brute:

Your local rental house will have them.
