Hi Guys,

I've started doing a bit of VFX, Compositing and Motion Graphics work for a Production Company. The guy who runs the place seems keen for me to learn to use Motion and although he's not actually said it, he's coming across as if he would prefer me to use Motion rather than After Effects.

I'm happy to learn a new program, and Motion does look to be a pretty powerful tool from what I can see, but it seems a bit counter-productive for me to be muddle through something in a program that I don't know when I could do it in much less than half the time in After Effects; which I like to think I know pretty well.

So my question to you guys is are there any considerable pros or cons of one program over the other? Have any of you used both programs and which do you prefer? And finally, are there any major things that you can do in Motion which you can't do in After Effects?

I would ask the guy himself, but it's my first proper job doing this kind of thing so I don't want to go rocking the boat as it were by questioning his judgement!

Any advice you could give would be great. Thanks!
