The EMP effect is based upon ripple pulse, form and shine.
Works best if the image (like the speedo) is also concentric.

nothing but the best here, really appreciate these awesome tuts. However, I am curious about how the aurora was created in the beginning and the under water effects when the orbs go under water. Any ideas?

Those spots are gorgeous. Watching the tutorials. I'm pretty new to AE and seeing the animated particles in Particular surprised me quite a bit.
Can't wait to try this out.

I have admired this spot since I came across it in the Trapcode gallery when it first showed up. Prior to your tutorials I tried to figure it out on my own but I never could get it to look quite right. The tutorials filled a lot of the holes - much appreciated!

One thing I found interesting is the use of Shine in the color correction stage of the shot. I was dead on about that as I was trying to break down your method. Its a nice trick I have used on many occasions since I came across it trying to figure out your work. I probably use Shine more with a ray length of 0 than I do with any other amount. You can get some very interesting looks with colorize set to none, a ray length of 0 and playing with the boost light settings along with the shimmer settings. It allows you to stack a lot of depth onto some otherwise "flat" looking footage.

Thanks again for the tutorials! If you plan on doing anymore, I will stick in a request for the LF-A spot (my favorite from your posted work). Also I wouldn't mind seeing your method on moving the Lux enhanced lights behind layers in the hybrid spot. Thanks again those tutorials were awesome and I am glad I am not the only one who uses Shine for more than just volumetric light.

Thanks a TON Rook!! We'd love to see any further tuts you may have! Personally, I would like the ICE section explained a little. The whole Lexus spot was simply outstanding!
