How to replicate bank vault rods in Element 3D

Postby przytula on 08/1/2017, 12:11 pm

I'm not sure if they are called rods or not (the things circled in the pic). Basically, I want to duplicate the rods in my design using the replicator but aren't sure exactly how to go about that. I basically need to replicate a cylinder 12 or so times around it's center axis.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

• Create a cylinder in Element

• Set the radius, height and chamfer

• Change the Alignment from "Model Center" to "Bottom"

• Click OK to exit Scene Setup

• Set the Particle Replicator Shape to Ring

• Increase the Particle Count to 12

• In the Particle Look>Particle Rotation, rotate the particle 90 degrees on the X axis

• In the Particle Replicator set the X Rotation to -90 degrees

Alternatively, you could rotate your cylinder inside the Scene Setup beforehand, you'll just need to adjust the Replicator's Shape Scale to compensate.
