Breaking up a logo made in Element 3d into peaces

Postby Focus Reflect on 09/3/2016, 5:03 am

Hi,

I have a logo made in Element 3D and want to shatter it into peaces so i can use is more creatively in the multi object menu.
I want to have a inner color and separate outer color. How would i go about this the best way? I have used thrausi in the past for this but havent been able to get clean results with it.I Kept seeing the breaks in the logo after it was done in C4d.
Any way around this or anyone know of a better way?

Im not a C4D user and have not tried out Element (yet at least) but you might wanna have a look at fixing the normals after you broken the object? I assume you mean you are seeing facets after its been broken? or are you seeing the breaks when importing it to Element?

A dirty way of doing it would be to have a copy of the object (none broken) then just masking it in AE.

Are you using the c4d lite version or is it the full one? The R18 have fracturing built in and it was release a few days ago. From what i have seen in videos it have propper smoothing/normals after its been broke (just a heads up incase you havent seen it).

Hmmm tried C4D with the buildin fracture plugin. Seems to be procedural and not permanent. So i dont think Element 3D can handle this kind of break. Has anyone had any succes with this method?

What part of Thrausi are you finding isn't clean? I did this super quick test on a cube and it's extremely clean?
