Laptop sujestions

Postby Wakeandbbakefilms on 11/7/2009, 9:59 am

Hi guys, Im hoping you can give me some help. Im looking for a new laptop workstation ( laptop rather then desktop as Im moving around a fair bit over the next 8 months). I know what I want but Im finding it hard finding places to find buy laptops of a decent quality.

Its mainly for 3d use so a reasnably fast processor, plenty of ram (arond 6gig with option of more) nvidia quadro graphics card, sorage is not hugley inportant but a fast drive would be good. Size wise 15" will be ok I have a 22" screan anyway and finlly it must have a 64 bit os. Any one got any suggestions? I was looking at the HP probook as this seems to cover all I want, but I cant find much else. Does any one here have any advice at all, my budget is around £800 more or less. Any decent retailers to look at?

I have posted this in the computer section but got no answers, so Im hoping actuall 3d users may be able to help.

Thanks

i really doubt you will find anything of good quality at that price range. But you would find something better if it was a desktop

yeah I know a desktop would be cheaper but im moving to london for 3 months norwich for 3 weeks then off to canada, so a desktop unfortunatly isnt an option really. I need it to be portable.

Th Hp ProBook 4510 I can get for £800, with the above spec. Im thinking there must be other options as Hp are hardly cheep. Does anyone know anywhere they custom build laptops?
