Premiere Pro CS6 - How to rotate and resize canvas?

Hello there,

Whilst on holiday someone recorded me on my phone; this was done at night and although i am visable i wanted to do some colour correction (namely making it brighter) on it. However the person recording it did so in portait rather than landscape. When i import the video clip into PP it defaults to landscape.

Now i was able to rotate the clip in the "Motion" settings of the clip but that however only rotated the clip not the entire canvas. Is there a away to either force PP to open the clip in portrait mode or get the canvas to change it's orientation to portrait mode?

I'm not planning on playing this ona TV, just wanting to do something to get my feet wet when it comes to video editing

You would have to change the project dimensions.

I couldn't see an option to do that, am i just being blind?

With your project open in Premiere choose "File>New>Sequence". Do NOT yet hit "Ok", instead select the next tab named "Settings". Set your your "Editing Mode" (right at the top) to "Custom". Now you can input the dimensions to your liking, for instance 1080 x 1920.
