Render Help

Postby floodjlc on 01/4/2016, 2:17 pm

Just upgraded my system which was about 4 years overdue. Wondering of some experienced members could give me some tips to possibly speed up my workflow and renders. It would be greatly appreciated.

Computer Specs:

Windows 10
Intel i7-5930 6 core overclocked to 4.1 GHz
ASUS GeForce GTX 980 Ti Poseidon
64 GB Ram - Crucial Ballistix Sport LT DDR4 2400

C Drive is SSD running programs
D Drive is SSD with Disk Cache and Render Output
E Drive is Media and Projects

Settings in AE 2015 are 21 GB of Ram reserved for other applications

Settings in AE 2014 are 21 GB of Ram reserved for other applications
Multiprocessing on rendering multiple frames Using 8 of the 12 Cores

I am test rendering in both 2014 and 2015 to see what gives me the best speed.

Media and assets should absolutely be on SSD's while render output really doesn't have to be.

Other than that you are pretty much maxxed out, I would say.

Can't say in regard to AE, I don't do complex stuff in AE at all anymore, at most I do slapcomp level color correction and grading, else I'm in Nuke or Fusion, sorry...
