If you where exporting 1080 clips from AE via media encoder that are going to use in premiere and then mabey back to AE whats the best codec to use that wont lose quality ?

DNxHD and Cineform are both visually lossless codecs that are often used as intermediate codecs.
They are both free. DNxHD is from Avid and Cineform is from GoPro.
If you don't want to install third-party codecs, QuickTime with the Photo-JPEG format is decent.

All of the ones I've mentioned so far aren't technically lossless though. If you want genuinely lossless video, QuickTime with the PNG codec is technically lossless and should work just fine.

What about the Lagarith codec. It's a smaller file size and loss-less.

have to give that one a shot too the prores one is slowwww and the Cineform works good but for some reason is adding blank white frames after the comp when done in media encoder I can cut them out in premiere thou
