Corrupt MP4 file!

Postby Effects on 03/10/2014, 2:24 pm

My dad filmed with a GoPro camera. He then plugged in the camera into the computer and transfered the files instantly over to an USB memorystick.

Now the files (.MP4 container) are corrupted.
We can't open the files in VLC media player, nor import it to After Effects or any other software.

I've been googling and trying softwares like this one: http://www.yodot.com/mov-repair/corrupt ... files.html

But didn't work at all, it said unsupported fileformat.

I wonder, how can I fix the files?

One of the files works, or half of the file seems to be working, the beginning works then it stops working. But then there's like 10 other video files that just wont work at all.

We did transfer the files from USB memorystick to the computer, so you don't think we only been trying to run the videos via the memorystick.

Have you installed the cineform codec needed for GoPro-files?

Yes, I did that.

I tried import the videos to GoPro studio but it doesn't work.
Only the one video where I could watch half of the video.

It's weird too, when I open the videos on VLC media player it says it's like a 5 hour long video, when it's supposed to be like 10-20 min long video..
