Premiere Elements can't import Action Essentials .mov files

Postby carz999 on 05/4/2013, 7:32 am

I am running Adobe Premiere Elements 11. I have updated QuickTime and Premiere Elements. When I try to import a .mov file from Action Essentials 2, this error message comes up.

"This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed."

I'm on Windows 7 64 btw. I have already tried restarting my computer, no luck.

Any suggestions would be appreaciated.

Thanks

I had the same problem. I had to go into the properties of the video.(RIght Click and go to Properties). Then where it says " Opens with:" I had to change that to Adobe Premiere. I am using just Premiere and not Premiere Elements and I am using Windows 8. I don't know if either of those things have anything to do with how I got it to work but that is what I did.
