Some of my test videos

Postby richardstill002 on 08/2/2008, 8:26 am

Hello, I thought I would share some of my videos that I created with the help of Mr. K's tutorials. :D

3D eye and replacement- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRIQWK3_ovw

News template (I made the UFO effects in 3ds max and AE)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAXZweZQskU

These are some of my other videos that I did outside of the Video Copilot tutorials.

Cloaking effect- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4mmI9U4pac

Slicing the door- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VODliwpy_1g

Fire in AE- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyOsc0plhd0

Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated. :)

That fire video is cool! The sound and look are great.

You have some cool sci-fi videos.

Good videos, here are some tips:

Eye replacement: Tracking is a bit shakey and colors are off. Tone them down a bit ;)

Cloaking: poor keying - the green cast from the greenscreen is clearly visible - detone it via a mask or use your keying plugin's settings to reduce it. Also, there's a problem with lighting: the still you're using as background has light coming from north-west, you are getting light from north-east. Use some CC too ;)

Slicing the door: way faster would look better ;)

Thanks! I will probably work on another eye replacement soon and try to get the colors closer. As for my green screen, I only have two lights setup at the moment. :( I am going to try to make some larger lights I found by Indy Mogul and use some of my dad's soft boxes.

I actually shot the fire myself. I just took some video of a burning candle with a black T-Shirt behind it. I also had a specific setting on my camera called sunset, which got rid of the intense glow. I used AE to set the mode to screen and added a glow to make it look more realistic.
